User Reviews about Orcs & Elves

"Orcs and Elves" was originally released as a mobile-phone game by iD software many a moon ago and the foundation of its humble roots is readily apparent in its 'spruced up' remake version here on the Nintendo DS. Even with its slightly crude graphics, and simplistic controls/gameplay this title provides a very satisfying experience from start to finish - especially if you have a soft-spot for old school, 1st person perspective, hack and slash, dungeon crawling RPG's. If you've been yearning for a simple, dungeon crawl that hearkens back to the days of 'Wizardry' and its ilk on the Apple II - trust me when I say that this title will happily allow you to wallow in such nostalgia. While this version won't win praise nor accolades for its aesthetic it nonetheless remains engaging and provides a pleasant experience spread out over the course of 6+ hours. -- Simplistic, yet satisfying
I don't think younger game players will like this. I found it to be bloody and frustrating. I was sorry that I purchased it and resold it without even finishing it. Maybe older players who are into Lord of the Rings and used to this sort of game play will like this game. -- Nintendo DS Orcs and Elves
i used to play games with this same gameplay format when first person hack and slash games were popular. im suprised there are not more DS games with this format. i enjoyed this game and now you can get it for a ncie price. if this company is going to make a sequel to this game i would give the ability to have characters join you in on your journey. also, make the gameplay and story more in depth. i really enjoyed this game and hope to see other titles like this in the future for the DS. -- nice game with classic gameplay
"Orcs & Elves" for the DS is a solid RPG for the DS. My 12 year old son really enjoyed it and found it challenging enough to keep his interest. He has replayed the whole game at least twice and says it is still fun. He makes the following Observations:

Graphics: Fair, nothing special
Controls: Easy to master
Playability: Very good
Re-Playability: Good

My wife also played the game and found it fun, but was not able to finish before giving up (RPG isn't her favorite type of game).

So, recommended for fairly light RPG fun. -- Great Adventure RPG Fun - Recommended!
